BOI engaged with the Government of Punjab to review 101 RLCOs across 18 departments, aiming to streamline regulatory processes and reduce compliance burdens.
Advancing BOI’s Reform Agenda to Provinces: Engagements with Government of Punjab
As part of the Board of Investment’s ongoing reform agenda, successful consultations were held with the Government of Punjab in collaboration with Program Implementation Unit (PIU), Planning & Development Board, Lahore. Meetings were held with 18 key departments across the province to conduct a comprehensive review of 101 Registrations, Licenses, Certificates & Other Permits (RLCOs).
The objective of the consultations was to map existing regulatory processes, identify bottlenecks, and propose concrete recommendations for simplification, streamlining, and, where feasible, elimination of redundant RLCOs. This effort aligns with Government of Pakistan’s broader goal of reducing compliance burdens and fostering a more efficient and transparent regulatory framework for businesses operating operating across Pakistan.
This initiative marks a significant step toward regulatory modernization at the provincial level. The outcomes of these consultations will serve as a foundation for actionable reform strategies.
