The 4th Ease of Doing Business Committee meeting at BOI discussed initiatives like Asaan Karobar Act, Zero Time to Stat Policy, Sectoral Mapping, and Investment facilitation, emphasizing provincial collaboration for a unified investor-friendly environment.
On May 16th, 2024, the 4th meeting of the Ease of Doing Business Committee was convened at the Board of Investment chaired by Mr. Abdul Aleem Khan, the Federal Minister for BOI, Privatization, and Communications. Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Finance & Revenue, and Mr. Jam Kamal Khan, Federal Minister for Commerce also attended the meeting.
Mr. Rahim Hayat Qureshi, Secretary Board of Investment gave a detailed briefing on the BOI’s initiatives aimed at enhancing the Ease of Doing Business to the committee members along with representatives of the provincial departments. These initiatives encompassed the Asaan Karobar Act, Zero Time to Stat Policy, Sectoral Mapping, Regulatory Transformation, and Investment facilitation through Special Economic Zones.
Mr. Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized the importance of engaging provinces and regions for a harmonized approach toward creating an enabling environment for investors/businesses in the country. He instructed that senior officers be designated from each province/region to collaborate with BOI, providing their insights on the EODB initiatives before presenting them to the Prime Minister.
