The licensing process also demanded attested copies of documents, and applicants were required to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from OGRA, which was not mandated by the rules, causing redundant assessments and delays. The license validity was limited to one calendar year, adding to the administrative burden.
After: The License Form B-1 process is now streamlined and digitized, eliminating the requirement for OGRA permission and attested documents. Approval authority has been decentralized to regional offices, enabling faster decisions. Applicants can submit documents, pay fees online, and track their applications in real time through a digital platform, reducing the need for follow-up visits. The license validity has been extended to three years, improving regulatory efficiency and aligning with international best practices.
