DescriptionBefore: ADs were required to obtain a Loan Registration Number from SBP before registering certain categories of external loans, creating a month-long delay even where the loan met all the conditions for AD-level registration. This prior-approval requirement was redundant given that ADs already reported all loans to SBP monthly, and added an unnecessary step that delayed businesses' access to foreign capital.
