Description		Before: Environmental approvals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa—including General Environmental Approval (GEA), Initial Environmental Examination (IEE), and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)—are issued under the Pakistan Environmental Protection Act, 1997, as adopted and amended in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the KP Environmental Protection Act, 2014, and further operationalized through the KP Environmental Assessment Rules, 2014. Multiple environmental approval requirements (GEA, IEE, and EIA), extensive documentation, and lengthy review processes increase compliance costs and delay business establishment, expansion, and investment.
