DescriptionBefore: Under the Medical Devices Rules, 201717The License to Import Medical Devices (Form-4) is a formal authorization issued by the Medical Device Board (MDB) of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP). The license is mandatory for any business engaged in the importation of medical devices into Pakistan, whether for commercial sale, institutional use, distribution, or further processing. This includes importers, distributors who import directly, hospitals procuring devices from foreign supplier. Mandatory import licensing, extensive documentation, and regulatory approvals for medical devices increase compliance costs and delay the importation, distribution, and availability of medical devices.
