DescriptionBefore: Building Plan Approval in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is regulated under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Land-Use and Building Control Act, 2021, along with the relevant rules and bye-laws framed thereunder. Approval is mandatory for the construction, reconstruction, alteration, or extension of any building within a notified local area. In most jurisdictions, Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs) act as the principal approving authorities, while Development Authorities exercise jurisdiction in designated areas. Mandatory building plan approvals, multiple authority jurisdictions (TMAs and Development Authorities), and extensive documentation requirements delay construction projects and increase business compliance costs.
