Details

 Difficulty
  • Previously, only the frozen meat products were included in the Export Finance Scheme (EFS) for availing the concessional short term financing facility provided to exporters through banks.
  • This condition neglected the exports of fresh meat products.

Analysis

  • Without the inclusion of the fresh food products in the Export Finance Scheme (EFS) concessional short term financing facility provided to exporters through banks for exports of fresh meat could not be availed. Therefore, it was thought necessary to include the fresh meat products in the Export Finance Scheme to facilitate the export of the fresh meat products.

Solution

  • Exports of meat of bovine animals, fresh or chilled and meat of sheep or goats, fresh, chilled or frozen have been made eligible for concessional short-term financing facility by addition in Export Finance Scheme (EFS).
