MEETING OF DIRECTOR GENERAL REFORMS, BOARD OF INVESTMENT WITH RAWALPINDI CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY ON PAKISTAN REGULATORY MODERNIZATION INITIATIVE (PRMI).

Mr. Zulfiqar Ali, Director General Pakistan Regulatory Modernization Initiative (PRMI) Board of Investment BOI held a meeting with Senior Vice President, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI) Muhammad Hamza Sarosh and Vice President, RCCI Mr. Faisal Shahzad at chamber house to apprise them on Pakistan Regulatory Modernization Initiative (PRMI). Former President Raja Amer Iqbal, executive committee members, Mr. Athar Hussain, Statistical Officer, BOI, Mr. Akmal Javaid, Consultant WBG, Mr. Ibrahim Malik, Consultant WBG and distinguished RCCI members were also present on the occasion.

Director General informed the participants that to reduce the compliance burden on businesses, especially those in the SME sector, the Board of Investment has launched “Pakistan Regulatory Modernization Initiative with the key objective to reduce the compliance burden & cost on businesses due to regulatory requirements of government departments such as Registrations, Licenses, Certificates and Others permits (RLCOs) and improving the effectiveness of regulatory regime. He further retreated that BOI being the premier Investment Promotion Agency has been able to implement 170 reforms in 30 sectors in coordination with 90 departments of the Federal and Provincial Governments having a direct impact on hundreds of businesses under PRMI.

The DG welcomed the suggestions of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry members related to the ease of doing business & Regulatory Reforms and assured full support for incorporating them into BOI Registry.
