Reform Description		Extension of License Validity Period for Auto Workshops to Three Years Before: Previously, the validity period of licenses granted to auto workshops was only one year, requiring owners to renew them annually. After: The validity period of auto workshop licenses has now been extended from one year to three years, providing greater convenience to businesses.

Details	Difficulty	Licenses granted to auto workshop had a validity period of just one year and auto-workshops had to get them renewed every year. This short validity period and yearly renewals placed extra cost and compliance burden on the SMEs involved in the auto workshop business.
	Analysis	It was found that Motor Vehicle Rules, 2017 state that the auto workshop licenses are valid for only one year and the time period for validity may be increased. To revise this, amendment in the Motor Vehicle Rules was required.
	Solution	In line with the reform proposal, Excise and Taxation Department Gilgit Baltistan has extended the validity period of auto workshop license from 1 to 3 years.
