DetailsDifficultySome requirements under the relevant Factories Act are redundant.
One such requirement is getting all surfaces whitewashed with a specific grade of whitewash.
AnalysisIt was analyzed that the whitewash requirement is outdated and not aligned with modern construction materials like tiles, nor with international best practices for maintaining hygiene.
Therefore, this requirement should be abolished.
SolutionAccordingly, the Labour and Welfare Department ICT issued an order stopping the inspectors of factories from conducting such low-risk inspections and file prosecution.
